Sun City death investigation ruled murder-suicide, according to sheriff’s office

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - A death investigation in Sun City has been ruled a murder-suicide, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to Sundance Lane in Sun City on Thursday, March 2, at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Robert and Marcello Caravello were found dead inside their home. Sun City Security initially responded to their residence after family members had not heard from them.
A firearm was found in proximity to the couple during the crime scene investigation.
The sheriff’s office said that autopsies indicate that Marcello’s death was caused by a gunshot wound to her head and the manner was determined to be murder. Robert’s death was caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his chest and the manner was determined to be suicide.
