Family displaced following house fire in Hinesville
HINESVILLE, Ga. (WTOC) - One family is left displaced after a house fire.
It happened on the 900 block of Wrenwood Lane.
The fire was called in after a neighbor saw smoke and flames coming from the home.
“I was watching t.v. on the couch and I heard what sounded like firecrackers or something and I thought about it and was like no it cant be so I looked at my camera and it picked up some motion so I looked out the front window and the house was up in flames,” said Benjamin Angstadt who reported the fire to 911
Hinesville fire said they received the call just before 9 p.m. Sunday night and when they arrived, half the house was burning. The neighbor said he and his daughter alerted the houses around them, fearing the flames might spread.
”It was freaking me out because all of those trees back there, I thought if a wind gust would picked up it would catch the tree and start spreading more and more. It was kind of scary.”
Thankfully that didn’t happen and no one was in the home at the time, Angstadt saying that’s a silver lining to a crazy experience.
“I’ve never actually seen a house on fire like that like right next door it was pretty wild.”
At this time it is unknown how many in the home is affected or if there are any injuries.
