One person sent to the hospital after a shooting on Bradley Blvd.
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Savannah Police Department is investigating a shooting Thursday morning in the 1500 block of Bradley Blvd.
Police say one person was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries after shots were fired in the early morning hours.
One neighbor, who didn’t want to go on camera, said that he heard at least 15 shots fired.
Police haven’t said whether they believe the shooting was random or targeted leaving neighbors shaken up.
“I was very surprised when someone told me to not leave the house because there was a crime scene over here.”
A neighbor says he was trying to get to work this morning but the street was blocked off.
“I asked my mom when I looked at everyone over here. She said she went to the restroom saying she got up and she heard about four shots,” said Carlos Taja.
He says he’s lived here around 15 years and never seen anything like it.
“Everyone’s really friendly. everybody walk in the morning, they walk their dogs and everyone says hi everytime you drive around. everyone says hi, it’s a very nice neighborhood. Area’s been nice since we moved here. we’ve had nothing but positive interactions with our neighbors,” said Taja.
Another neighbor says…he’s also shocked.
“The area’s been nice since we moved here. we’ve had nothing but positive interactions with our neighbors,” said Nick Schena.
He says residents are worried and confused.
“I’ve met the neighbors over there before. I want to ask him why was he out at that time in the morning. Maybe he heard something and went to go check on it,” said Schena.
This is a developing story. WTOC is working to gather more details about the shooting, and will keep you updated as they become available.
