POOLER, Ga. (WTOC) - The campaign trail is heating up in Pooler.

A large crowd turned out Tuesday night at the Mitsubishi Power Americas plant for a candidates’ forum. Residents packed the conference center to hear from the three mayoral candidates - Tony Davis, Stevie Wall and Karen Williams.

The candidates answered questions for an hour and 11 candidates vying for six council seats also got a chance to make their appeal to the voters.

“The Pooler Chamber’s job is to educate and advocate so it was a really easy decision for us to know that we needed to hold a 2023 election forum. We have eleven city council candidates and three mayoral candidates and we believe it’s really important that everyone heard from them directly,” said Courtney Rawlins, president and CEO of the Pooler Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau.

WTOC’s Dawn Baker was the moderator for the forum.
