Burglary suspect arrested after standoff on E. 40th Street
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Savannah Police have confirmed they arrested a man after a barricade situation on the 2200 block of East 40th Street.
Police say they responded to a burglary in progress call at 8:50 p.m. Thursday and saw the suspect inside the home. They say they set up a perimeter around the home and the suspect refused to leave.
Police communicated with the barricaded suspect and used less-lethal munitions. The suspect surrendered and was arrested shortly before 11 p.m.
Curtis Russell, Jr. faces charges of 1st Degree Burglary and Obstruction.
