GLENNVILLE, Ga. (WTOC) - Glennville and Tattnall County have teamed up to celebrate the men and women who keep their communities safe.

They held the annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Cookout Thursday night. This has been a tradition for 30 years as a way to say thank you to those who serve and protect.

It’s a gathering of police officers, deputies, troopers, game wardens, corrections officers and others.

They come from local, state and federal agencies - from Macon to the Florida line.

Organizers started it small but now six area sheriffs put it on. State leaders and federal lawmakers also showed up to say thank you.
