McIntosh Co. industrial site growing with business
MCINTOSH COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - New equipment coming into the Tidewater Industrial Complex in McIntosh County as they get ready to kickstart the work there and provide new jobs for the community.
For the normal person, it looks like a lot of big equipment that we may not know too much about. But for McIntosh County, it’s just a start of everything that’s going to be done at this new industrial park.
This is just a portion of it. We’ve had it open for about two months, and we’re starting to fill up the yard with our valuable clients.
The good news, they say it’s already bringing business and jobs for people right here in our area.
“We have 12 at the site, we have 30 in Claxton Georgia, we hope to have about a hundred on this yard when we have the 50 acres completed,” said Randy Aragon, Controlling Operating Officer, JB Harris.
Randy Aragon is the Controlling Operating Officer at JB Harris. One of the first companies to operate out of Tidewater Industrial Complex. He says, what’s happening here is one of the first of its kind.
“We handle the supply chain for people that are manufacturing or distributing goods,” said Harris. “So that their equipment won’t be so costly on the transportation storage and the delivery.”
All while pouring growth back into the McIntosh County community.
“Darien was very helpful with all of the job fairs, we’ve already put on quite a few people here and we’re continuing to get it from the community.”
They got a new shipment of equipment Thursday that’s going to kickstart a lot of that work.
“We’ve worked year and year, trying to get the contracts from large OEMs. And one particular OEM that we just contracted is JCB and they started coming into our yard today.”
As we learn more about how the Industrial Complex continues to grow, we’ll continue to keep you updated.
