Arrest made in shooting that killed man in Vidalia

VIDALIA, Ga. (WTOC) - An arrest has been made in a shooting that left one man dead in Vidalia.

27-year-old Ja’meak Rashod Byrd was taken into custody on December 31st.

On December 12th, Vidalia Police responded to the Vidalia Village Apartments and found 31-year-old Timothy Byrd with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

During the course of an investigation conducted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Vidalia Police Department, a warrant for murder was secured for Ja’meak Rashod Byrd.
