Up-cycling with Polly’s Thriftique
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - One woman’s passion for fashion is showing people you can wear second hand clothes and still look good. As national thrift day is nearing this Sunday---Camille Syed takes you inside Polly’s Thriftique!
A fashionista herself, Deloris Smith can spot a cute outfit in the blink of an eye.
Which is why she opened Polly’s Thriftique.
“I started out on a whim, nothing pre-planned as you would say. But I’ve always had a love for clothing and fashion. I said ‘I love to thrift. I could do this.’”
The donations she accepts from people in our community fills these racks. Polly’s has clothes, shoes, hats and jewelry.
And her customers come back for more good deals.
“You can still look nice and not have to pay top dollar, that’s why it’s a thiftique. We have name brand clothing. I have a lot of my things still have tags on them.”
Smith also has a variety for men. Suits, ties and hats throughout the thriftique.
“People come in and they say you know I’ve been passing by here and I finally decided to stop and then they’re in shock because it’s not a large space but I am trying to make it work for me. They’re just in awe because they’re like I like everything you have. It’s nice that they leave out smiling.”
