HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. (WMC/Gray News) - A utility worker in Tennessee was found dead by a homeowner while he was working on power lines over the weekend.

The man, employed by Spectrum Utility, was working Saturday to restore service lines damaged by the Jan. 25 ice storm at a residence in Adamsville, Hardin County Sheriff Johnny Alexander said.

The homeowner told deputies she found the man dead next to his work van.

It is unclear how the worker died. Alexander said his body was taken to the coroner’s office for an autopsy.

“We are devastated by the loss of our co-worker, and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time,” a Spectrum spokesperson said.
