SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A recent study determined that teenagers in America need far more emotional and social support than they are receiving, and that adults often are not aware of this need.

The Centers for Disease Control study indicated that 42 percent of teens felt they needed more support, while 93 percent of adults believed their children were receiving adequate support.

With World Teen Mental Wellness Day approaching, local experts joined Morning Break to outline ways to recognize stress, anxiety or depression in your child and tips for addressing any emotional or behavioral changes in kids.

Those experts were Taylor Warren, Youth Program Lead Coordinator for the Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire, and Sharee McKenzie, the Program manager for the APEX School Based Program at the Gateway Community Service Board.
