Chatham County police are searching for 18-year-old Jamari Timmons after public tips helped identify him.
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Two men have been arrested and a third suspect remains wanted in connection with several financial transaction card fraud incidents in the Skidaway Island area.
Chatham County police say 23-year-old Koronte Edwards and 22-year-old Jamaal Alija Green were arrested and booked into the Chatham County Detention Center on felony financial transaction card fraud charges.
Detectives are searching for 18-year-old Jamari Timmons, who has an active arrest warrant for financial transaction card fraud.
Police initially requested the public’s help Sept. 16 to identify Timmons and locate the other two suspects. Tips and other investigative information helped detectives identify Timmons, according to the department.
Edwards and Green were taken into custody within days of that request. The investigation remains active.
The case comes amid broader concerns about fraud losses in Chatham County. In a recent report, Police Chief Jeff Hadley said residents had lost $6.4 million to scams this year, with the amount stolen increasing 113% compared with the previous year.
