Measles has dominated local and national headlines for the past few weeks. The outbreak is reaching levels not seen in 25 years. The Center for Disease Control is reporting 940 confirmed cases in the U.S. for 2019 alone.
Measles vaccinations have long been a subject of debate in America, so much so that for the first time since the year 2000, there is now an outbreak. According to the Centers for Disease Control, there are more than 800 cases across the nation. 6 of those cases are right here in GA.
More than 1,000 students and staff members at two Los Angeles universities were quarantined on campus or sent home this week in one of the most sweeping efforts yet by public health authorities to contain the spread of measles in the U.S., where cases have reached a 25-year high.
