SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Students from the Savannah Technical College's Historic Preservation are building a doghouse from reclaimed building materials.

They will donate the 6 foot long 4 foot tall doghouse on Saturday at the Humane Society of Savannah's Design and Build Competition.

The leader of the program, Stephen Hartley, says the project was a fun group effort.

"It allowed us to use carpentry, roofing and stained glass skills for a good cause," said Hartley.

The auction will take place at 2 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Old Star Laundry at E. Broad and 35th.
