Miss Georgia stops by Beach High School for Poetry Out Loud

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - High school students in Savannah are getting a lesson in education from Miss Georgia.

Michaela Lackey stopped by Beach High School as part of the Poetry Out Loud program, a national program aimed at encouraging students to learn more about language arts. Lackey said that it is something very dear to her heart.

"The arts allow them to find themselves, accept them for who they are, and allow others to accept them for who they are as well," said Lackey.

Miss Georgia also visited Island High School and will be touring high schools all over the state.
