Woman injured during Subway robbery

LADY'S ISLAND, SC (WTOC) - A gunman robbed a Lady's Island Subway restaurant on Saturday morning.

Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office were called just before 8 a.m. to the Subway on Sam's Point Road on a report of an armed robbery of the store moments earlier.

A 28-year-old woman told deputies that she was robbed at gunpoint by a black male supect.

She was preparing to open the shop when she heard a knock at the rear door. There was a man wearing a ski mask and armed with a handgun at the door. He forced the employee to the front of the store, where he demanded money, according to the sheriff's office.

He got an undisclosed amount of money from the register and ran toward the back side of Food Lion.

The woman was injured during the incident. She described her attacker as a tall, slender black male who may have been in his early 20s. The suspect was wearing blue jeans, a white shirt, and a black sweater that had a white stripe running down the sleeve.
