History came to life at Fort Pulaski National Monument on Sunday.
Living historians held a demonstration of the final moments of the Battle of Fort Pulaski.
One hundred and fifty years ago, the confederates surrendered the fort to the union forces. The re-enactment included both confederate and union soldiers' authentic music.
Gloria Lee says, "I think what is so fantastic about this event that we've been holding is the interaction between the history of the fort and the actual tangable of the fort. Actually being here, seeing the re-enactors, seeing history come to life, as it were."
The national monument is open daily for visits. For more information about how to visit the fort click here.
