SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Students and faculty at Savannah College of Art and Design are working on their next revitalization project.
City planners, SCAD faculty and urban an graphic designers from all over the world met Thursday to discuss ways to revitalize the 22 block stretch of Waters Ave. in Savannah. Once the planning is done, the group will present the opportunities to the city and community, hoping they can then move forward to fix up the area for businesses and families.
"We live in a world where there is more hope. We have communication that lets us collaborate in ways we have not before. At the same time, things have never been more fragile. So, there is urgency," said David Berman, World Body for Graphic Design Sustainability Chair.
The conference is part of SCAD's Do-Ference project, a hands on conference using design for social change.
