HINESVILLE, GA (WTOC) - Fort Stewart's Warrior Transition Battalion is under new leadership. At a ceremony Friday morning, Lt. Col. Rosemarie Deck assumed command from Lt. Col. William Reitemeyer, who has led the battalion for the past 29 months. Under his command, the battalion has been involved in a functional restoration pilot program, a canine therapy training program, and the first use of biofeedback for soldiers suffering from traumatic brain injuries.

"I am going to miss being a part of that team. It has been a phenomenal team. Every soldier takes car of other soldiers, civilians, the NCOs and officers. Everyone takes care of other soldiers. I am going to miss that," said Reitemeyer.

Reitemeyer's next assignment will be coordinating overseas exercises with U.S. Army Central Command. Incoming commander Deck was previously deployed to Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division, Combined Joint Medical Office.
