SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A 24-year-old man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a Savannah man during a robbery attempt in November.
Malcolm Kwame Brown was arrested at about 3 p.m. Wednesday by the U.S. Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Savannah-Chatham Metro Police detectives and K-9 officers in the 200 block of Avery Street, according to SCMPD.
The arrest is the result of a nearly nine-month investigation by SCMPD homicide detectives that involved several sources.
Brown is charged with the Nov. 13, 2011, shooting death of Jonathan David Brazell, 34, at Atwood and Seminole streets in the Paradise Park area.
Brazell was walking just before 7 a.m. when two men in a car stopped and started talking to him. He was then shot and was declared dead at Memorial University Medical Center, according to police.
Brown's arrests go back to January 2006 on charges include robbery, obstruction, theft by receiving, simple battery, probation violation and possession of controlled substances, according to SCMPD.
