Circus in Town

The "greatest show on earth" is coming to Savannah. The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey circus rolled into town last night and has taken over the Savannah Civic Center. Maybe you've been to the circus before, but Ringling Brothers' Hometown Edition is really an extraordinary performance.

The biggest stars of the circus weighing in at more than 5,300 and 1,900 pounds, respectively, and Doc and Gunther love to perform for the crowd. You can enjoy these Asian elephants in the show, and get a sneak peek at their lives beyond the big top in Ringling's behind-the-scenes tour.

"The Hometown Edition is the most intimate and interactive show Ringling Brothers has ever put together," production manager Brian Newman told us.

It'll give you an eye-to-eye look with the elephants, and the closest contact with the circus you've ever experienced. "If you come out an hour before, you get to come out on the floor, you get to get autographs from everybody in the show and everybody's out on the floor interacting," said Newman. "Some kids get to participate with acts with the clowns."

The show starts at 7:30pm tonight, but you'll want to be there at 6:30pm for the pre-show. Tickets are $14 to $28 dollars. It's in town through Monday, July 5.
