GARDEN CITY, GA (WTOC) - Garden City fire and police responded to a tractor trailer fire early Tuesday.

It happened around 6 a.m. on Chatham Parkway, right in front of Grainger Honda. Officials say the brakes on a tractor trailer were bad and locked up, causing a small fire to the rear of the trailer.

The driver was able to pull the semi into the middle lane. Police did have the northbound lanes blocked for about half an hour but are now back open.

Crews removed the semi from the road around 7 a.m. and it should not cause a problem during the morning commute.
