Beaufort County celebrates 'American Idol' finalist Candice Glover
BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) - A little rain wasn't stopping the nearly 20,000 Candice Glover supporters from watching her cruise down Main Street in Beaufort, for her very own parade.
"We love her," said fan Molly Poke.
The parade stalled for a bit when Gov. Nikki Haley's car broke down, but a few officers jumped right in and got things flowing again, as fans chanted Glover's name.
"It's Candice; it's Candice; it's Candice," said fan Brandy Farthing.
There she was, rolling in style, with her seven siblings walking beside her, and her parents in the car behind her.
"I like how she's a great singer and that she isn't divaish about it," said Tess LaCombe.
"She's awesome. She's from Beaufort South Carolina."
Everyone showed up and showed out - just for their idol, Candice Glover.
The tears flowed down her face as she waved to all of her fans, and pride shined on their faces as they watched her.
"This is Beaufort, Beaufort comes together all the time to support our own. This is who we are," said Suzy Lange.
Everyone in the Lowcountry said this is just the beginning for Glover. Once she becomes "American Idol", they're going to continue to support their girl.
