JASPER CO., SC (WTOC) - The U.S. Attorney's Office is investigating the Jasper County School District.
The IRS and the FBI were at the district office Wednesday, requesting a number of documents.
Investigators are asking for the district to turn over all financial documents, including contracts, invoices, travel vouchers, credit card statements, transparency reports and minutes of all board meetings.
Investigators are also asking for the superintendent and assistant superintendent's employment files, including all other department heads.
District spokeswoman Shelly Murdough said Superintendent Vashti Washington has directed all employees to cooperate with the investigation.
