LONG CO., GA (WTOC) - A semi-truck caught on fire shortly before noon on Tuesday in Long County.

The fire occurred off of Highway 196 near the Time Saver mini-mart.

The driver and his wife were hauling a truck load of compresses cardboard when one of the tires blew out.

The extreme heat from the road caused the tire to catch fire. The driver then pulled over into a dirt parking lot, where the fire spread to the whole trailer.

The Long County Fire Dept. showed up minutes later and contained the fire. It took almost two hours to completely extinguish the flames.

Luckily, no one was hurt during the incident.

The fire remains under investigation.
