Parent Alienation Awareness group visits Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A group trying to raise awareness about parental alienation made a stop in Savannah.

They set up a demonstration outside the Chatham County Courthouse on Friday.

Locals joined the family from California, who said they're traveling coast to coast to make people understand that parental alienation is child abuse.

"It's when one parent will badmouth the other parent to the child or interfere in one way or another in the relationship between the child and the other parent unjustifiably due to spite or vindictiveness," said Joe Barrow.

Parental alienation is personal to Barrow and his family because he said his ex-wife is doing it to him with his 15-year-old daughter.
