SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Torrey Scott, accused of raping two Savannah State University students in December and a Candler Hospital nurse in February was indicted Wednesday for the rape and murder of a soldier's wife.

Lisa Pynn, 33, was strangled to death in the master bedroom of her home on Port Wentworth's Flox Glenn Court in January, one month after the attacks at Savannah State and one month before a woman was kidnapped and raped outside Candler Hospital.

Pynn's husband was deployed in Afghanistan when she was killed. She left behind a six-year-old son, who discovered his mother dead.

Scott had been released from prison two months prior to the attacks at a Savannah State residence hall. He lived next door to Pynn, police say, with his girlfriend, Nadine Lockwood. Lockwood was arrested Wednesday, charged with making false statements to police.

Police say Wednesday's indictment is a relief, but they still have a long way to go.

"It's absolutely a tragic situation," said Port Wentworth Sgt. Brian Phinney, who investigated the case. "There's nothing that I or anyone else can say to bring this victim back to life."
