Suspect in recent SSU shooting due in court

The case is moving forward against the man accused of the Sept. 5 shooting at Savannah State University. 

Marviq Richardson is due in court Wednesday in Savannah. He is charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct and carrying a gun on school property. 

Investigators say the victim, SSU student Christonia Woods, punched Richardson. He then fired his gun seven times, hitting Woods four times. 

The defense says they may look into using a self-defense argument. 

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Richardson is due in court at 2 p.m.
