MCINTOSH CO., GA (WTOC) - A plane made an emergency landing on I-95 Thursday morning.
McIntosh County Sheriff Steve Jessup said the plane landed on the Exit 49 ramp of I-95 (Darien/Outlet Mall exit).
The pilot said he was at 3000 feet when he experienced engine failure. He landed safely on the southbound off-ramp and coasted into the grass in order to not block traffic.
There was no damage to the plane and no one was injured. The plane will have to be dismantled and put on a flatbed truck to be removed.
The FAA, McIntosh County Sheriff's Department and the Department of Public Safety will remain on scene until the plane can be removed. Traffic is not affected.
