Man guilty of exposing women to HIV receives 20 years, 4 to serve

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC)

Antonio Bacon, the man found guilty of intentionally exposing women to the HIV virus, has been sentenced to 20 years, but he will only serve four in prison.

He will spend the remaining 16 years on probation.

WTOC was in the courtroom when Bacon received his sentence on Friday.

Bacon was found guilty of exposing at least six women to the virus, and was convicted on four counts of reckless conduct by an HIV-infected person, each count carrying a maximum of 10 years.

Prosecutors say Bacon intentionally exposed the women to HIV in 2012 and 2013. One of them was just 15-years-old at the time.
