I-16 eastbound back open after vehicle fire

BLOOMINGDALE, GA (WTOC) - Traffic is back to normal on Interstate 16 after a vehicle caught on fire just before 9 p.m. Saturday night.

According to the Bloomingdale Police Department, the driver noticed smoke coming from the car and immediately pulled off on to the median. The driver then got out and called 911.

Bloomingdale fire and the Pooler police department also responded to the call. Interstate 16 eastbound was shut down temporarily,but all lanes are now back open.

The car was severely damaged, but no one was injured during the car fire.
