BRYAN CO., GA (WTOC) - Clean up is underway after a tractor-trailer truck loaded with rubber tires caught fire in Pembroke on Thursday.

Firefighters said the truck caught fire on Wednesday night when it was involved in a crash on the interstate. Crews put that fire out and hauled the truck to a wrecker yard near the intersection of Georgia Highway 119 and U.S. Highway 280 where the fire rekindled.

The Pembroke Fire Department had to call in crews from Bryan County, Effingham County, Bulloch County, Fort Stewart and Hunter Fire Departments in to help put it out.

"It takes foam to put it out," said City of Pembroke Fire Chief Peter Waters. "We didn't have enough foam or man power that's why we had to call other agencies."

Crews are working on cleaning up the incident.
