LIBERTY CO., GA (WTOC) - Four adults and two children are recovering in the hospital after a serious wreck took place in Liberty County, around 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, one of the children was ejected and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit. Luckily, neither one of the children's injuries is life-threatening.
An SUV, driven by Thomas Hill, failed to yield, striking a truck driven by Lauren Moore. Both drivers and their passengers, including the children, were taken to Memorial Health in Savannah for treatment.
"We had one vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Highway 196 going towards Highway 17, and a second vehicle coming from a perpendicular road. It appears that vehicle failed to yield to the right-of-way, and struck the suburban that was going towards Highway 17," said Harry Middleton, Sr. GSP Trooper.
Moore is being charged with failure to obey a stop sign and failure to use a child restraint.
