SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah-Chatham Metro Police have arrested a man that was wanted for shooting his mother and beating her fiancé during an altercation on Tuesday.
Officials say just before midnight, Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police arrested 20-year-old Joshua Lovett without incident outside of a business on the 1900 block of East Victory Drive. Joshua Lovett appeared before a judge on Wednesday and was denied bond.
Lovett had warrants for his arrest after officers responded to the Argyle Street home of 49-year-old Paula Lovett and her fiancé, 54-year-old Thomas Mincey, just after 12 p.m., and found Lovett inside suffering from a gunshot wound and her fiancé had been beaten with a baseball bat.
Both Paula Lovett and Thomas Mincey were transported to Memorial. Officials say Lovett is in critical condition, and Mincey is in serious but stable condition.
Lovett is charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
