'Panic in the Pen': Haunted jail house
CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - The old Chatham County jail is being over-run, by zombies.
After being abandoned and forgotten many years ago, the jail is now haunted. Inside you see a bunch of zombies, ghouls, and ghosts. Just in time for Halloween.
The Chatham County Sheriff's Office is setting up an intense Halloween scene that promises to be the ultimate haunted house.
"We have four floors of misery so to speak," said Maj. Russell Smith, Chatham County Sheriff's Office. "We've got a zombie floor, we've got a medical floor with mental patients, we've got a morgue, and we have a kitchen, which we're standing in now with body parts and a butcher shop."
You can check out "Panic in the Pen" if you dare Oct. 23rd, 24th, 29th, 30th, and 31st from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Old Chatham County Detention Center on Montgomery Street.
It takes a little less than half an hour to do the self-guided tour. Tickets are $10.
The money benefits the Sheriff's Office Youth Explorer Program and the Wounded Warriors Project.
