BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) - The Beaufort County Elections Office is making sure all of their voting machines are fully operational ahead of Election Day.
Election officials tested the machines on Friday to make sure the number of votes programmed in each machine was at zero. Officials then completed a mock trial of the voting process to make sure the ballots were correct and that voters could write in a candidate.
The machines are tested before they are sent out to their designated poll locations. Each voting machine has a lifespan of about 15 years and is tested each year.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
