Beatles Yellow Submarine animator to appear in Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Ron Campbell, director of the legendary Saturday morning Beatles Cartoon series that aired on ABC in the 60's, will make a rare personal appearance at Oglethorpe Gallery, for five consecutive days.

Campbell will be offering for-sale original cartoon paintings of the Beatles, both in their ABC cartoon and Yellow Submarine roles, as well as various other works from his 50-year career in animation. These works of art were created for the Oglethorpe exhibit.

Yellow Submarine, recently celebrating its 46th anniversary, has become a permanent fixture in pop culture, defining the psychedelic 60's for generations to come.

The cartoon series aired from Sept. 25, 1965 to April 20, 1969.

The schedule for Campbell's appearance is as follows:

Wednesday, Nov. 18 – 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 19 – 12 noon – 8 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 20 – 12 noon – 8 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 21 – 12 noon – 8 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 22 – 12 noon – 5 p.m.
