2 injured after plane crashes on house on St. Simons Island

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Authorities are investigating after a single engine plane crashed on a home on St. Simons Island on Tuesday morning.

Just after 11 a.m., a single engine Piper PA-32 crashed into a home on Circle Drive. Two passengers were in the plane and received minor injuries. Both were transported to the hospital.

The plane landed on the roof of the home. Homeowners were present at the time of the crash, but no one was injured.

The area around the home was blocked off for some time. The Glynn County Police Dept., Glynn County Fire Dept., Glynn County Emergency Management and Glynn County Red Cross all responded to the crash.

The FAA is investigating.
