Metro responds to car fire at gas station at Pennsylvania Ave., Alaska St.

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Officials responded to the El Cheapo gas station at Pennsylvania Avenue and Alaska Street, after a vehicle caught fire around 10:30 Saturday morning.
Savannah-Chatham Metro Police say the driver was simply trying to get gas, but the pump was not working. As he drove to a new pump, he heard a loud booming sound, and the car went up in flames and smoke.
A gas truck driver helped put the fire out. Officials say he hurt his leg, but he is okay.
