STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - If you are a student or the parent of a student, the last thing you want is a forgotten parking ticket to keep you from registering for another semester - or from graduating and getting your degree.

Now, students can take care of tickets through a cell phone app. Georgia Southern University has teamed with an app company called "Quickit." You just download the app, and when you get a ticket, you scan it and pay it with one click. You can pay it through whatever method you want, whether it's Applepay, Paypal, or a credit card. They believe it's more secure than a third party website, and easier too.

"Yes, you can still come by here and pay in person. We won't turn you away. Yes, you can still pay on our website. This is just another option," said Kristi Bryant, GSU Parking and Transportation.

How many people get tickets here? Kristi says they write 30,000 warnings and citations per-year. With 20,000 students, that works out to one to two per-student.

We know some students don't have cars, so some get more than their average. Kristi says the best thing to do is park where you're supposed to, but if that doesn't work, this helps you handle it quickly.
