SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Two lanes of I-95 south were closed near Exit 94 after a semi-truck caught fire Sunday morning.
The driver said the fire started around 3:30 a.m. when a tire blew out and caught his trailer carrying pallets on fire. He managed to pull over and detach the trailer from the truck to prevent the fire from spreading.
The fire was still smoldering at 7 a.m. as officials worked to clear the roadway. The trailer had to be extinguished and wrapped before being towed away.
No one was injured during the incident.
