BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) - Investigators continue to search for the man they say cut power to seven mom-and-pop drug stores in Bulloch County over the weekend.

Consider this a very close call for several small business owners in Bulloch County. Southern Pharmacy in Statesboro is one of seven independent pharmacies that saw their utility boxes cut late Saturday afternoon or Saturday night.

Investigators tell WTOC they found no signs of anybody trying to break in. They think the would-be crook planned to come back Sunday when any backup batteries would have gone dead and alarms would not have sounded.

But, two things foiled the plan. One store owner went to his place Sunday morning. He learned he had no power and no power box. Also, the alarm company for some of the stories alerted for the power outage.

Investigations caution business owners, if you're closed on a Sunday or some other day, leave some lights on and ride by. If you notice the lights out, call your local authorities.

Anyone with info in this case, call Statesboro Police, Brooklet Police or the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.
