Solar power conference held in Statesboro
STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - Farmers and other business people in Statesboro learned how much easier 'going solar' can be.
Coastal Solar of Hinesville brought together bankers and representatives of USDA to show the tax incentives, and even grants, available to switch their farm or business to solar energy. Owners say the federal government extended tax credits that were supposed to expire this year.
"That gave us much more of a runway to bring businesses and individuals in that wanted to use that 30 percent tax credit," said Clay Sikes, Coastal Solar.
The conference focused on the lowered costs of equipment and installation compared to just a few years ago, as well as overhead and sustainability.
