SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Thursday, Savannah will get a brand new limelight - on HGTV, as a historic restoration interior design duo brings the ideas and the city they love to your TV screen.

One of the designers was born and raised in Savannah, and the other has adopted the Hostess City as her home. Together, Linn Gresham and Leah Bailey - historic restoration experts at the Design House in Savannah - came up with an idea to bring their projects to viewers of HGTV.

"HGTV bit, and they were back here in March, filming two episodes," Gresham said.

"Never in a million years did we think we would have a show like this. We are just so thrilled," said Bailey. "I mean, who gets an opportunity like this to show a gorgeous city, to show incredible design, to show impeccable historical preservation? I mean, the opportunity is beyond us."

The duo is very serious about the tasks at hand - and although not always the fanciest of projects - history is a big part.

"Old homes; I wouldn't say 'mansion' that often, although that would be really fun. More often, it is just regular families who aren't happy with their kitchen or their living room," said Gresham. "We went to school for interior design at SCAD. We do space plan changes, finish upgrades, lighting, color, that sort of thing, and kind of try to transform the way people feel about their spaces."

Linn says they try to keep it playful and fun, usually at the expense of Leah.

"I pick on her, too. You haven't seen that yet, but our chemistry is amazing," Bailey said.

At the end of the day, they want their love for Savannah and it's rich and cultured history, to be on display.

"Not only is this an incredible city we live in; the history is beyond us. To allow these people to come into this city and fall in love with it is our goal," said Bailey.

"More than anything, I want them to fall in love with Savannah; fall in love with our old homes and see a vision of what can happen with them," Gresham said.

You just might fall in love Linn and Leah's style and personalities along the way.

You can catch Vintage Savannah on HGTV starting Thursday at noon, with replays all weekend long. Check your local listings.
