SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - First responders in our area got a nice meal Tuesday in Daffin Park, as part of National First Responders Day.
The meal was provided by the Harris Penn Lowry Firm. It was all to show appreciation for their hard work.
This is the third year that Harris Penn Lowry has held the luncheon. It caters to anyone on the first line of defense when it comes to emergency. Those that attend the luncheon say they feel a sense of support and appreciation.
"Every year they say that this is an event that means a lot to them because of a lot of things going on in the world related to first responders, they don't feel appreciated. We do this to let them know we all care about them," said Jeff Harris.
First responders didn't leave Daffin Park with just full stomachs. They also took home a copy of Savannah's own South Magazine, and a T-Shirt that says "We love our first responders."
