Manager attacked during attempted armed robbery at Food Fresh in Claxton

CLAXTON, GA (WTOC) - A suspect is in custody after an attempted armed robbery left one person injured at the Food Fresh in Claxton.
Police say Earl Brewton went into Food Fresh around 6:30 a.m. Saturday and attempted to rob the store, beating the store's manager.
The suspect reportedly beat the manager until a citizen was able to pull him off.
Officials say Brewton was armed with a 20 gauge shotgun during the incident.
Brewton was charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault.
