Arrest made in off campus apartment shooting near Georgia Southern.

STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - The Statesboro Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault that took place at an off-campus apartment near Georgia Southern University, Thursday afternoon.

Around 3:42 p.m., Statesboro Police received notification of an incident of shots fired at Campus Crossing Apartments. Officers responded to secure the scene and begin an investigation. The incident is being investigated as an aggravated assault, with three confirmed victims who suffered gunshot wounds. At this time, none appear to be life-threatening.

Police say immediately after it happened, a witness saw a man running from the scene with a pistol. The witness was able to follow the suspect until he could wave down a State Trooper, who was responding to the scene. After a foot pursuit, 28-year-old Jarvis Jamal Scroggins was taken into custody and charged.

Statesboro PD would like to thank the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office, Georgia State Patrol, Georgia Southern University Police Department, and Georgia Department of Natural Resources for their assistance in the investigation.

This case is still under investigation and no further information is being released at this time.
