STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - One equipment dealer in Statesboro got a quarter-million dollar surprise on Monday.

Someone had driven off with high-dollar tractors over the weekend. The owners of Lowcountry Kubota arrived to work to find the gate lock broken and pieces of equipment missing. There was no way to anticipate how much and that the whole thing would be captured on video.

Security footage shows a tractor-trailer backing onto the lot late Saturday night. Crooks loaded up three skid steers like this one and a mini excavator.

"What they pulled up to our loading dock and took totaled up to $247,000," the owner said.

He says the video shows them methodically finding certain inventory and loading them onto the truck.

"We have them clear on camera, picking the machines they wanted. There are three guys. They cranked the machines up. They had the keys."

He and his wife think it had to be people in the equipment business who can sell on the black market. He's also heard from other dealers in Georgia and South Carolina who have also been targeted.

"We're not going to let this ruin us. This is what insurance is for. We just hope in the long run that they catch up with these people."

They've shared the images on their social media pages, hoping someone with information sees it and brings them a lead to catching the crooks.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office. The owners are offering a sizeable reward for info that leads to an arrest and conviction.
