Sunday brings chance of showers, thunderstorms

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A stationary front over southern Georgia will gradually dissipate Sunday night. A cold front will come in Tuesday night, then become stationary across the Coastal Empire and Low Country on Wednesday and Thursday before finally heading north as a warm front on Friday.

Sunday will be partly sunny with highs in the lower 90s and east winds around 5 to 10 mph. Sunday night will be mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows will be in the mid-70s with southeast winds at 5 to 10 mph, becoming light and variable. There will also be a 20 percent chance of rain.

Monday is expected to be partly sunny in the morning, then becoming mostly cloudy, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. The highs will be in the lower 90s with southwest winds at 5 to 10 mph. The chance of rain is 50 percent. In the evening, it will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows will be in the mid-70s and southwest winds will be around 5 to 10 mph. There will be a 50 percent chance of rain.

On Tuesday, there will be showers with a chance of thunderstorms. Expected highs will be in the lower 90s, with southwest winds around 5 to 10 mph and a 60 percent chance of rain. In the evening, it will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows will be in the mid-70s with a 50 percent chance of rain.

Wednesday is expected to have showers with a chance of thunderstorms. Highs will be in the lower 90s and the chance of rain is 60 percent. Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows are in the mid-70s with a 50 percent chance of rain.

On Thursday, showers are likely with a chance of thunderstorms. Highs will be in the upper 80s, with a 60 percent chance of rain. In the evening, it will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows are expected to be in the mid-70s with a 50 percent chance of rain.

Friday is expected to be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the upper 80s. There will be a 50 percent chance of rain.
