Police looking for driver involved in hit-and-run crash on Abercorn Street

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Savannah Police Department's Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating an early-morning hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a bicyclist on Savannah's Southside.

Officials say at approximately 12:45 a.m., 34-year-old Jerry Hodge was riding a bicycle east on Abercorn Street near Arts Drive when he was struck in the rear. The vehicle that struck him continued traveling east.

Police were called after Hodge was found by a concerned citizen. He was transported to the hospital in serious condition, according to SPD.

The crash remains under investigation by the TIU.
